As a new Twitter user I’ve come across hashtags and have no idea what they mean. #Metahash will try to succinctly give you an idea of what the top hashtags of the moment are about, so you don’t have to waste precious seconds Googling or go to the next meeting of nerds looking like a fool. A FOOL!
What are hashtags?
Hash tags on Twitter are snippets of text with a # and then a snippet of text (a tag) inserted into Tweets to indicate they’re part of a greater conversation. All Tweets with a given hash tag can be searched and tracked together for a variety of fun and nerdy purposes. Sometimes based around an event, other times trend, hashtags seem to have emerged as a way to track the enduring topics of current conversation on Twitter.
